PUBLIC NOTICE

NORTH STAR ACADEMY CHARTER SCHOOL, OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY (ESSEX COUNTY) hereby advertises for competitive bids in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A- 21(A,B).

Proposal No: TRAN-2023 – Student Transportation Services-School Related Activity Trips. Sealed proposals must be received on or before Tuesday, April 4th, 2023 at 9:00AM.

Purpose: To secure a vendor to provide transportation services for a charter school network.  Services will consist of transporting students from fourteen campuses across nine sites throughout Newark, NJ for the purpose of field trips, athletic events and other local student activities.  As one charter school operating across several campuses, North Star Academy will award one (1) single overall contract on behalf of the network.

Proposals must be sealed and hand delivered to the Network Office of North Star Academy, located at the above address, on or before Tuesday, April 4th, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. No proposals shall be received after the designated time. The proposal opening process will begin promptly afterwards on Tuesday, April 4th, 2023 at 9:00 a.m using zoom meeting platform.Information on accessing the Zoom meeting will be provided to all vendors who request a proposal package and posted on the North Star Academy Charter School website, located at https://northstar.uncommonschools.org/.

All vendors are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et. seq., Affirmative Action against Discrimination and N.J.A.C. 17:27 et. seq.

All vendors are encouraged to submit with their proposal package a copy of the New Jersey Business Registration Certificate as issued by the Department of Treasury of the State of New Jersey. (N.J.S.A. 52:32-44). A copy of the Business Registration Certificate must be submitted prior to the award of the contract.

North Star Academy reserves the right to reject any or all proposals pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-2(s), (t), (x), (y), 18A:18A-4(a), 18A:18A-22, and to waive any non-material informalities.   North Star Academy further reserves the right to take such alternates as they deem appropriate, and in any order that North Star Academy feels may be in the best interest of the charter school network.

North Star Academy reserves the right to reject any or all bids pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-2(s), (t), (x), (y), 18A:18A-4(a), 18A:18A-22, and to waive any informalities.

Public Notice

The North Star Academy Charter School is currently requesting proposals for the 2023-2024 school year for the delivery and receipt of vended meals for the school food service programs.

The Commercial Vendor will provide meals/documents according to USDA meal patterns, regulations, and guidelines as well as the New Jersey Department of Agriculture policies and guidelines.
