NORTH STAR ACADEMY CHARTER SCHOOL, OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY (ESSEX COUNTY) hereby advertises for competitive proposals in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-4, et seq. and 21(A,B). 

RFP No: CNP -2026 Multi-Campus Food Services Vendor. Sealed Proposals must be received on or before Monday June 8th , 2026 by 9:00AM. Any proposals submitted after this timestamp will be rejected. 

Purpose: The purpose of this Request for Proposals is to secure one or more vendor(s) to provide food preparation and delivery services for North Star Academy. Services will be provided to upwards of fifteen campuses across 10 sites throughout Newark, NJ. North Star Academy may, at its option, award one contract on behalf of the network or individual contracts per school. 

All necessary proposal specifications and proposal forms may be secured upon written request to: Ms. Kathleen Torres, Associate, Regional School Support, Email: Kathleen.Torres@northstaracademy.org. 

Proposals are to be delivered to Kathleen Torres, Associate Regional School Support at the Newark campus, 18 Washington Place, Newark, NJ 07102. The completed proposal package must be received at the above address, on or by June 8th , 2026 before 9:00 AM. at which time they shall be marked as “received” or logged as having been delivered. No proposal shall be received after the designated time. North Star Academy Charter School is not responsible for the vendor’s failure to send the proposal prior to the allotted time or for any technology issues, internet access failure, or other circumstances that cause a vendor’s proposal to be sent or received beyond the date and time set forth herein. The proposal opening process will follow promptly. All questions will be answered at the conclusion of the proposal opening. Proposal results will thereafter be posted on the District website in accordance with law. 

It is recommended that each response be hand delivered to North Star Academy. North Star assumes no responsibility for delays in any form of carrier, mail or delivery service causing the response to be received by the individual so designated in the specifications. Proposals will be stamped as received in hand, and misdelivered or late proposals will be returned unopened.

All vendors are requested to submit with their proposal package a copy of the New Jersey Business Registration Certificate as issued by the Department of Treasury of the State of New Jersey. (N.J.S.A. 52:32-44). Vendors must submit the Certificate prior to the contract award if not provided with the proposal. 

North Star Academy reserves the right to reject any or all proposals in accordance with law, and to waive any non-material informalities. RFP No: TRAN-2026. Sealed proposals must be received on or before Tuesday, May 19th, 2026  at 9:00AM.

Purpose: The purpose of this request for proposals is to secure a vendor to provide transportation services for students from several campuses throughout Newark, NJ for the purpose of field trips, athletic events and other local student activities.  As one charter school operating across several campuses, North Star Academy will award one contract on behalf of the network.

The North Star Academy Charter School is currently requesting proposals for the 2023-2024 school year for the delivery and receipt of vended meals for the school food service programs.

The Commercial Vendor will provide meals/documents according to USDA meal patterns, regulations, and guidelines as well as the New Jersey Department of Agriculture policies and guidelines.
