North Star Academy is committed to ensuring that every student has access to nutritious, high-quality meals that support their health, well-being, and academic success. Our Food Services program is designed to promote access to healthy meals, support student choice, and encourage lifelong healthy eating habits in alignment with federal nutrition standards. North Star participates in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and provides eligible students with free or reduced-price meals based on federal eligibility guidelines. The policies below outline meal access and eligibility, student choice through the Offer versus Serve model, and the Local Wellness and Nutrition standards that help foster a healthy and supportive school environment across all North Star campuses.
Meal Charge Policy
North Star Academy operates a Free and Reduced-Price Lunch program in accordance with the National School Lunch Program (NSLP). Families are encouraged to complete the required meal application each school year to determine their student’s eligibility for free or reduced-price meals. Meal costs are based on each student’s approved eligibility status in accordance with federal program guidelines. North Star is committed to ensuring that meal service is handled respectfully and consistently for all students and that students have access to nutritious meals throughout the school day.
