Vailsburg Middle

Vailsburg Middle School was founded in 2010 by Principal Serena Savarirayan and Director of Operations Annette Riffle, both former teachers at Clinton Hill Middle School. Building on the successes of the original Downtown Middle School and Clinton Hill, Vailsburg Middle School has expanded the number of Newark students on the road to college. It shares a building with Vailsburg Elementary School on the grounds of Newark’s historic Sacred Heart Church. Together the two schools provide a full K-8 facility, preparing students to attend North Star's College Preparatory High School.
