Downtown Middle

The Downtown Middle School was founded in 1997 by James Verrilli and Norman Atkins. It was one of the first charter schools in New Jersey. A school that once began with 36 5th graders and 36 6th graders has now expanded to nearly 300 students, serving grades 5-8. The school is currently run by Principal Kelly Dowling.
